How to become a member?

Each country of the European Union and entities of third countries neighbouring at least one of those Member States that want to strive together for safer roads and high-grade enforcement, can become a member of Euro Contrôle Route European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation. With great enthusiasm ECR EGTC wants to welcome all interested countries either as an observer or full member.

More insight into the possibilities and the procedures to follow can be found below.

Steps to be taken to achieve full membership to ECR EGTC

The requirements and the procedure to (re)gain full membership to ECR EGTC in its new legal personality are described in the current convention and the current statutes of our organisation. Some steps will be included in the „Internal Rules”, which are mentioned in the constitution and the statutes, but this document is currently under revision and not valid yet. Hence, the steps described in the valid documents are:

Convention Nr. VII 2.4 - public entities are eligible to become a full member of ECR EGTC - all agreed requirements must be fulfilled (which certainly will be the case for former ECR members) - the convention must be adopted - the General Assembly must give a positive vote for accession.

Statutes Nr. I 1.2 - New members must agree to the measures and procedures described in the Convention, Statutes and Internal Rules (for the latter see remark above) - application must be submitted to the President of the General Assembly, who currently is Ms Joanna Sekala, PL, with mail-address joanna.sekala@gitd.gov.pl, and as of 01.01.2025 Mr Wouter Arts, NL, with mail-address wouter.arts@ilent.nl - application must include the approval by main decision-making body of the prospective member and the signature by the authorised representative.

Statutes Nr. VI 2 and 3 - the annual membership fee is set by the General Assembly, and is calculated in monthly shares.
